Karolyn Thompson, PhD, LPC
Karolyn Thompson earned her undergraduate
degree from Winston-Salem State University, a Masters Degree in
Human Development Services/Agency Counseling from NC A&T State
University and her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan
University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in NC
and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors
(AACC) and the American Counseling Association.
Mrs. Thompson brings a broad range of experience to Associates.
Prior to rejoining our staff in 2007, she lectured at Winston-Salem
State and supervised field experience for graduate students at NC
A&T State University. She has conducted seminars and workshops
on relationship issues and is currently beginning her research for
a manuscript on marriage. She has also served our community by being
a board member for two local non-profit agencies.
As a therapist, Karolyn has a particular interest in restoration
in women, forgiveness, overcoming anger, emotional healing, marriage
enrichment, and relationship building.
She works with individual clients, young adults to the elderly,
and with couples.
Karolyn became a therapist because she “saw the need to help
individuals make use of their inner strengths to cope with and overcome
life’s challenges. I am delighted to see the positive results
the clients experience and grateful to have some influence throughout
the process.”
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus.
