I Serve - Bob Mills
Bob
Mills has been a member of the Board of Directors of Associates
in Christian Counseling since 1996. Read on as Bob eloquently describes
his Kingdom perspective on the ministry of ACC.
“God works through brokenness. We are often desperate when
we first begin to acknowledge that brokenness. As we heal, however,
we begin to understand how much God loves us and that our own heartbreak
can be preparation for ministry,” he shared. “People
can endure amazing things if they believe they have a purpose.”
Although he recognizes that not every person gets well, he firmly
believes God has a plan for every life. “Instead of hopelessness,
people can let go and turn to God.”
Mills walked through his own depression, diagnosis of bipolar disorder,
and transformation from being religious to having a personal relationship
with Christ. The ministry for which he believes he’s been
prepared is the founding of a bipolar support group at his own church.
“I identify with the counselors at ACC,” he said. “They
believe, as I do, that healing is God’s work but their own
pain and spiritual growth gives them a unique preparation for Kingdom
building.”
When asked why he serves on this Board, Bob replied, “I have
served on many boards, but I continue on this one because I am so
impressed by the people with whom I serve. It is a privilege for
us to use our talents to facilitate this ministry. I see Associates
in Christian Counseling as the real thing—healing, eternal
work of the highest quality integrating Truth, training, talent,
wisdom and knowledge.
Bob Mills serves as Associate Vice President of University Advancement,
