I Serve - Bob McHone
Bob
McHone joined ACC’s Board of Directors in 2002 after serving
on the Advisory Council. “I first heard about Associates in
Christian Counseling 5 or 6 years ago,” he shared. “I
was having lunch with a friend, Bill Brown, who was serving on the
Board at that time.”
The more Bob learned about the ministry, the more he wanted to
do something to help promote it. “Having worked in radio and
other media, I was able to use my experience to write and voice
the early radio commercials which were aired on WBFJ,” stated
McHone. It was a privilege to be able to use my talents to contribute
in this way.”
When reflecting on the impact ACC is having on our community, Bob
talked specifically about those who suffer from depression, stress,
and low self-esteem. “Since I have struggled personally with
these issues, I recognize the value of Christian counseling,”
he said. “I believe that those whom ACC serves receive a double
benefit—they are cared for by a professionally-trained staff
and introduced to the comfort of God’s love at the same time.”
McHone’s desire is that ACC become more known in our community
through both advertising and word of mouth. Bob’s late wife,
Jeanette, worked as a wound care therapist and believed greatly
in comforting those who struggle to heal. “We need people
to know that ACC is a comforting place, a safe place, a place where
hurting people will have time to heal.”
Mr. McHone concluded by saying that he considers it an honor to
serve on the Board of this ministry. “Under the guidance and
fine leadership of Dr. Joe Verga, and with a caring and loving staff
of Christians, Associates in Christian Counseling is dedicated and
committed to seeing ‘that no one misses the grace of God.’”
