Why I Serve—Mary Clemens

I first discovered Associates in Christian Counseling when our friend and Associates’ board member, Bob Mills, invited us to attend their annual banquet.

I have enjoyed helping many community organizations in the past, often serving in a leadership capacity.  At the time I was introduced to Associates in Christian Counseling, however, I was in between volunteer opportunities and I was seeking an organization that was aligned with my values.  The more I learned about the Associates, the more certain I was that it was an ideal fit for me so I gladly accepted the opportunity to become a member of the Board of Directors. 

As a pediatric and adolescent nurse interacting with young people on a daily basis, I am quite aware of the need in our community for effective mental health counseling.  Associates fills a vital role in this regard.  I believe their Christian-based approach is critical in their effectiveness.  I am proud to be affiliated with this outstanding organization and look forward to helping Associates in Christian Counseling make an even larger impact in the years ahead in improving the mental health of those in need in our community.

Mary is a Registered Nurse with Robinhood Pediatrics and Robinhood   Adolescent Medicine. She and her husband, Dennis, have 3 daughters and have lived in Winston-Salem since 1991.
