Health Month - Get Connected
Mental Health Month was created more than 50 years ago to raise awareness about
mental conditions and the importance of mental wellness for all.
This year the National Mental Health Association has chosen social
connectedness as its theme. They see “being connected”
as an essential component for maintaining and protecting mental
health and wellness and define three ways to get connected:
Get connected to family and friends to feel close and supported.
Last month Associates held its annual banquet. It was a time of
fellowship and community among those who faithfully support this
ministry as well as a time to make new friends. Be sure to read
Banquet Reflections and visit our photo
gallery and sponsor listing.
Get connected to your community to feel a sense of belonging
and purpose.
Our Speakers Bureau is our educational outreach to our community.
In the past year our staff members have spoken on a variety of topics
to church groups, support groups, and parents meetings. To learn
more about our connection to the community, be sure to read Speakers
Bureau and Out and About in Our Community.
Get connected to professional help to feel better when
your stressed and having trouble coping.
Confidentiality protects client/therapist conversations so as a
ministry, we rarely have stories to share. Over the years a few
clients have provided feedback to us on how getting connected to
the professional help available at Associates has impacted their
lives. These are reprinted with permission in Our Clients:
In Their Own Words.
