A Friend of ACC— Bill Brown

Nearly 13 years ago, Bobbi Brown was asked by one of her pastors to help with a project. That project was a banquet to raise both awareness and funds for Associates in Christian Counseling. As often happens, Bobbi recruited her husband to help with the preparations for a very special evening.

“I had never heard of Associates in Christian Counseling before that event,” Bill shared. I can still remember being so moved that evening by the description of the ministry and the lives which could be touched and healed through the combination of professional services and the ministering of God’s grace. Several years later when I was asked to join the Board of Directors, I was more than willing to serve.”

Bill’s desire to be supportive continues to this day, many years beyond his Board service. “I believe the impact this ministry has on our community since its founding in 1991 can been seen in the numbers: nearly 10,000 clients served with more than $1.6 million worth of services provided by their Client Assistance Program to those with demonstrated financial need.”

In closing, Bill shared his desire that awareness would be raised about Associates in Christian Counseling. “There are pastors and churches who support and refer to ACC, but it grieves me that so few members of the general public know about this tremendous resource we have right here in our own community. When there is so much hurt all around us, this ministry is able to offer healing and hope to those who seek help.”
