May 2008

For those of us in the profession, every month is mental health month! But May is the designated time to call attention to these needs and issues in our community and our nation. As Christian counselors, we know that both truth and grace are important ingredients in addressing the needs of the person, couple, or family in distress. When coupled with our clinical training, people receive the best of both worlds when they come to us for help.

This month we also reflect on our banquet and are so grateful for the support we received through our sponsors (listed below) and donors. Thanks to all who were able to attend. Please use the link below to see a gallery of photos from the evening.

We hope you enjoy this issue and will pass it on to friends.

Executive Director, ACC

Mental Health Month - Get Connected

Mental Health Month was created more than 50 years ago to raise awareness about mental conditions and the importance of mental wellness for all. They see “being connected” as an essential component for maintaining and protecting mental health and wellness and define three ways to get connected Read More

Banquet Reflections 2008

Although Associates will complete 17 years of ministry in our community this fall, it was our 9th annual fundraising banquet that was held last month. Nearly 400 friends and supports gathered on April 17th, to fellowship, enjoy a meal together and for some to learn about Associates in Christian Counseling for the first time. Read More

Our Clients: In Their Own Words

…I am thankful for the part you played in my diagnosis. I remember your kind and gentle ways and how you were willing to try to help me during this struggle and agony of depression.

…I have learned not to rely on others to tell me who I am. I can now take responsibility for my life. I guess that’s part of what it means when the Bible says, “The Truth shall set you free.”

…The Lord has used you to help me see many things more clearly. Though I still have a way to go, I believe I will be able to make it with the Lord’s help.

…I greatly respect your ministry. I think it is more effective than any other type of counseling. You disciple people one-on-one with patience and thorough care.

A Thought

The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another, until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be felt.
